PhD Program Hosts Online Soft Skills Workshop for Doctoral Students
The PhD Program in Language and Global Communication (International Program) hosted a two-day online workshop via Zoom to strengthen essential soft skills among doctoral students. Led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sugunya Ruangjaroon, the program focused on enhancing communication, collaboration, and adaptability in multicultural contexts—key competencies for academic study, research, and professional careers.
The workshop was conducted in two sessions, each addressing different dimensions of communication and teaching in international settings.
On March 25, 2026, Dr. Sukanda Sa-Ngaphan. Vice Director for Academic Affairs of the Language Institute at Thammasat University, led a session on the role of code-switching in enhancing bilingual communication, along with strategies for using English effectively in multicultural environments. The session also included analytical activities to support practical application.
On April 7, 2026, Asst. Prof. Dr. Denchai Prabjandee from the Faculty of Education at Burapha University delivered a session on integrating content knowledge with English language skills in teaching. He introduced practical techniques for combining language instruction with subject content, supported by hands-on analytical activities.
Overall, the workshop gave doctoral students the opportunity to engage with real-world communication challenges and apply practical strategies, helping them build greater confidence in working and teaching in multicultural settings.
