One day trip in Samut Sakhon

For their final project for Tourism & Hospitality class, Language for Careers (LC) Section A students formed the Samut Sakhon On Tour company. They commandeered a charter bus to take the group to Samut Sakhon province on November 8, 2017. The tour’s theme was “Eco-tourism” and they treated the guests to an informative and educational tour. At the Mangrove Learning Center and bamboo barrier site, guests learned about Thailand’s strategy to combat soil erosion. Next was a visit to one of the province’s brine salt farms to get firsthand information on how the province has become a leader in sea salt production. Local culture was also on the menu and was evident at the Phan Thai Norasing Shrine, where we learned about the legendarily honest man. Last stop was the Benjarong Village and a hands-on demonstration of painting on fine porcelain the Thai way.  The ‘tourists’ had a educational and fun day full of roosters!
