Trip to Koh Kret by LCI Students

On March 22nd – The second year Language For Careers International Program (LCI) students took a trip to Koh Kret. Along with LCI teachers, the group hired a boat that took us to and around the island. Students and teachers learned about the Mon culture, especially about Mon style pottery and basket weaving. We also visited some temples, like Wat Chimplu and Wat Poramaiyikawat, which features Mon style architecture. One of the highlights of the trip was the pottery spinning demonstration at Kwan Aman Pottery Museum. Some of us were lucky enough to give it a try ourselves. Although it was a hot day, we all enjoyed the scenery of the island and the rich cultural traditions that are still preserved and presented there.
